Speech and Hearing

In 1954, Delta Zeta’s National Convention voted to make Speech and Hearing our philanthropy concern. Since then, our members have raised millions of dollars to support local organizations tending to the needs of non-hearing people. In 2016, we named Starkey Hearing Foundation our National Philanthropy Partner in an effort extend our impact throughout the world. Starkey has a public pledged to provide more than one million hearing aids to people in need this decade. They currently give more than 175,000 hearing aids annually through missions around the world.

Midland Open Door

In 2015, our chapter began donating our time to the Midland Soup Kitchen. Twice a month our members will go and provide assistance ensuring that those in need throughout our community are being taken care of. Seeing the impact we have on the community is something we really value.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Every October is the pink ribbon month. This cause hits many homes across the world which is why we donate our time towards Making Strides. This event is created by The American Cancer Society.  Our time and commitment towards this walks raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. Each year we are proud to have the opportunity from the support of the student body to donate around $300. This local philanthropy means a lot to us and we look forward to the walk each year.
